Nel 1951 Christian Dior portò le sue donne-bambole con romantici abiti a corolla davanti alle colonne del Partenone ad Atene.

Settant’anni dopo, Maria Grazia Chiuri, la designer italiana alla guida creativa della maison, ha scelto di nuovo Atene per la sfilata della nuova collezione Cruise, la prima sfilata in presenza dopo 15 mesi di stop. Ma le modelle ora incarnano dee volitive, metropolitane, che indossano le sneaker sotto i pepli.

Fra i marmi dello Stadio Panathinaiko uno show grandioso che segna il ritorno della moda in presenza, esaltando l’artigianalità locale e l’attitudine sportiva delle donne contemporanee.

La sfilata è grandiosa come lo stadio, e ricapitola diorizzandolo tutto un immaginario sportivo che va dal basket al tennis al racing alla scherma alla barca. I volumi sono ampi, con gli shorts che ricordano pantaloncini da basket; le classiche silhouette new look lasciano spazio a qualcosa di più deciso, androgino e metropolitano – con echi di Bottega Veneta nel gigantismo degli accessori e di Louis Vuitton nei tocchi di futurismo atletico.
