La Lettura, nell’App i tacchi del Seicento e altri tesori
La storia delle curiose calzature, tra i pochi oggetti visibili del Museo artistico industriale. Nell’inserto La Lettura, la vicenda del museo (MAI), di fatto mai aperto.
Il nome tecnico è «calcagnini»ma erano conosciute anche come «calcagnetti», «pianelle», «chopine», «zibre», «tapine», «sopei».
Scarpe del Cinque-Seicento con una sorta di zeppa che arrivava fino a 50 centimetri, di cui un raro esemplare dell’inizio del XVII secolo entrò a fare parte della collezione del Museo artistico industriale (Mai). Un’istituzione che esiste da quasi 150 anni ma non ha mai davvero aperto, il cui patrimonio è sparpagliato in diciotto istituzioni (gallerie, archivi, scuole, ambasciate, quasi tutte a Roma)ma non ha una sede espositiva; ha un nome, Museo Artistico Industriale, che diventa un acronimo infelice, quasi un destino con i suoi 4.306 tesori (secondo un inventario parziale).
Ai calcagnini (e ad altri tesori del ’600) è dedicato il Tema del Giorno dell’App de «la Lettura», l’extra quotidiano solo digitale, firmato da Edoardo Sassi.
L’esemplare del Mai si può ammirare nel percorso museale di Palazzo Barberini, una delle due sedi delle Gallerie nazionali d’arte antica di Roma, che ospita parte della collezione del Museo artistico industriale.
Questi calcagnini non sono l’unica testimonianza di scarpe femminili del tempo custodita a Palazzo Barberini: tracce della moda di inizio Seicento si ritrovano anche nel dipinto Giuditta e Oloferne di Francesco Furini (1603-1646) e nella Venere che suona l’arpa di Giovanni Lanfranco (1582-1647).
Nel supplemento #482, Calzature d‘inizio Seicento, patrimonio del «Mai» l’App per smartphone e tablet contiene un articolo dello stesso Sassi che ripercorre la storia del Mai, uno dei primi musei pubblici dell’Italia unita, fondato nel 1872 dal principe Baldassarre Odescalchi (1844-1909) e dal mecenate e collezionista Augusto Castellani (1829-1914).
