1. CONVERSE CHUCK TAYLOR 70

Una delle sneakers più emblematiche e longeve che oggi continuano ad andare di moda, sono senza dubbio le Chuck Taylor 70.

Poco meno di un secolo fa, Charles “Chuck” Taylor, un giocatore di basket degli anni Venti sponsorizzato dall’allora esordiente marchio Converse All Star, iniziò a diffondere il modello All Star, dopo avere apportato alcuni miglioramenti all’anatomia delle sue scarpe da gioco.

Dal 1957, Converse iniziò a produrre la versione swag molto simile a quella che conosciamo dalla silhouette scollata a taglio basso.

Negli anni Sessanta il nome di quel famoso giocatore di basket fu inciso sulle scarpe che hanno fatto un lungo viaggio fino ai nostri tempi.

Negli anni Settanta sono diventate le calzature preferite dalle rock band come i Ramones, negli anni Ottanta sono state il simbolo di un’intera generazione e negli anni Novanta sono finite ai piedi degli attori di Hollywood che le hanno scelte per i loro momenti di riposo lontano dal set. Si tratta veramente di un paio di sneaker che definire un classico è quasi riduttivo.

2. ADIDAS STAN SMITH

Il marchio tedesco Adidas nel 1971 creò il suo primo paio di scarpe da tennis in pelle.

In quel periodo a indossarle fu il tennista Stan Smith, il numero uno al mondo.

Un testimonial perfetto per raggiungere il mercato americano e fare conoscere a tutti il nuovo prodotto Adidas.

3. NIKE CORTEZ

L’origine di queste sneakers risale al 1971 e al Messico.

All’epoca Nike puntava all’idea di una calzatura funzionale che per il suo comfort fosse adatta alle esigenze di tutti gli atleti.

In occasione della Coppa del mondo di calcio del 1970 svoltasi in Messico, Adidas, il diretto rivale della Nike, presentò la palla “adidas Azteca” e partì da quello stesso gioco di linee nella proposta del nuovo abbigliamento da tennis.

Per rispondere al lancio di Azteca, Nike battezzò le sue scarpe sportive Nike Cortez, un adattamento del cognome di Hernán Cortés in omaggio al Messico.

Da quel momento le Nike Cortez sono apparse in ogni angolo del mondo.

Nell’immaginario collettivo uno dei momenti più importanti nella storia di queste sneakers è vederle apparire in una scena del celebre cult cinematografico Forrest Gump, quando il personaggio interpretato da Tom Hanks riceve in regalo un paio di Nike Cortez.

4. VANS THE ERA

La febbre dello skateboad degli anni Settanta ha generato una tra le più iconiche sneakers da relax.

La società Vans, all’epoca ancora piccola, progettò una scarpa pensata per un pubblico giovane che fosse adatta a un amante dello skateboard con un design moderno e ben curato esteticamente.

Il marchio trovò una risposta grazie alle Vans 95, note oggi come The Era, utilizzate da professioni del calibro di Tony Alva e Stacy Peralta.

Proprio nel 2019, Reebok ha riproposto questo suo successo degli anni Novanta con il logo del marchio in grandi dimensioni e la suola in gomma.

6. FILA DISRUPTOR II

Negli anni Novanta una sneaker sovradimensionata e un po’ aggressiva è diventata una tendenza nello scenario del fitness.

L’ascesa dell’Eurodance e degli esercizi aerobici, fu la piattaforma di lancio ideale per Fila Disruptor II decisa a conquistare i piedi di uomini e donne.

Il vero successo arrivò a metà del decennio ed è continuato fino all’inizio del nuovo secolo. Per un po’la moda le ha messe da parte, ma sono tornate d’attualità nel 2015 con l’affermazione dello “streetwear”.

Il merito è di Demna Gvasalia, Gosha Rubchinskiy, i volti più rappresentativi di questa corrente. Disruptor II ha vissuto così la sua seconda vita tornando con molta più forza.

Molto probabilmente dopo questa “reincarnazione” sono destinate a rimanere un classico.

7. NEW BALANCE 99X

La serie New Balance 99X deriva dall’iconica 990 prodotta nel 1982.

Da quel momento, questo tipo di sneaker è stata costantemente reinterpretata mantenendo la numerazione “99” come prefisso.

Sono state le scarpe preferite di Steve Jobs e da molti uomini.

Il loro segreto è avere un design che si adatta bene a ogni vestito e occasione.
