Addio a Pierre Cardin, lo stilista super dotato del pret-a-porter
Scompare a 98 anni Pierre Cardin, il genio della moda, il pioniere del pret-a-porter, il precursore che ha immaginato tutto quello che oggi amiamo.
Era nato in Italia, nel trevigiano nel 1922, da una famiglia ricca andata in rovina durante la prima guerra mondiale e per questo si trasferì in Francia.
Cardin, lo stilista “futurista” divenne famoso per i suoi vestiti all’avanguardia, per i tessuti sperimentali come la plastica e il vinile.
Nel 1947 divenne il primo sarto di Christian Dior e nel 1950, essendo un uomo capace di fiutare affari, fondò la sua azienda di moda e prese a fare la haute couture.
Subito si distinse per alcune creazioni uniche: inventò il vestito a palloncino, il suo “bubble dress”, il suo abito più famoso; le giacche da uomo senza colletto che ispirarono il look dei Beatles, i pantaloni a sigaretta, la minigonna con lo spacco e gli stivali di vernice.
Esempio irripetibile nella moda, lascia a tutti noi la sua rivoluzione.
Cardin fu l’inventore del pret-a-porter, rese accessibile il design alla massa. Amava dire “ho inventato tutto io”, e aveva proprio ragione.
Non solo fu un genio nella moda, ma era un uomo di affari, era lungimirante, fiutava affari con molto anticipo rispetto ad altri, e brevettò molti prodotti con il suo nome in tutto il mondo (cravatte, profumi, acqua), acquistò il Maxim’s uno dei ristoranti più famosi di Francia.
Fu un visionario, disegnò persino mobili. Fondò l’Espace Cardin uno spazio espositivo per le sue collezioni, facendosi da apripista alle scelte dei futuri designer.
In un’intervista alla Stampa nel 2018 disse: “Nella moda non vedo più stile. Quando si guarda un abito di Cardin, ancora oggi vedo il mio tocco. Uno guarda Saint Laurent, Dior e non vede più un tocco particolare. Non sono riconoscibili”.
Cardin è stato attento ad un’epoca, alle sue opportunità e a tutte le sue rivoluzioni.
